Project Release v2.0 (Download)

In the ERA project, we developed a reconfigurable processor called ρ-VEX (pronounced rho-VEX, and written as r-VEX when Greek letters are not available). We are here releasing the VHDL code of this processor under an academic (non-commercial) license (download here) and included in the same project the binutils (not covered in the license), a simulator called xSTsim, and a manual. It is expected that there will be future releases of our work with more advanced capabilities of the processor and additional results from the ERA project - either keep an eye on this page or send an email to Stephan Wong ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) to be included in the release mailing list.

The current ERA project release (v2.0) can be downloaded here. The file is password-protected and you can obtain the password by filling in the license agreement (see link above) and sending it to Stephan Wong ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Furthermore, when you are publishing your work using this project, we kindly request you to refer to our publications that are most relevant/related to yours. Project Release v2.1 (Download) - 19-09-2013

In this release, we replaced the tutorial with an improved version and added all related files. More specifically, large parts of the tutorial have been rewritten, and a new chapter is included with a more advanced tutorial on using a ρ-VEX core as a co-processor in a Microblaze/Linux system. A more detailed changelog can be found in the project.

The new release (v2.1) can be downloaded here. The file is password-protected and you can obtain the password by filling in the license agreement (see link above - under v2.0 release notes) and sending it to Stephan Wong ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The ERA supervisor (Link)

During the ERA project, we developed a supervisor within an OS for the control of the multiple reconfigurable processors.
